Grafta for Painters & Decorators
Quote room by room while you're still holding the colour chart, and invoice the day the last coat dries.
Say the job. Grafta writes the quote.
A real example of the kind of job a painter and decorator quotes with Grafta — spoken once, itemised automatically.
You say
“Quote for Niamh Kavanagh in Bray. Repaint the full interior of a three-bed — walls and ceilings throughout, gloss on all woodwork, minor filling and prep. Five days with two of us, customer supplies the paint.”

"Roughly how much for the hall, stairs and landing?" — answered ten times a week, written up never.
Jobs finished Friday, invoiced… eventually.
Exterior work rescheduled around weather while the diary turns to soup.

Room-by-room quotes by voice
Walk the house, speak the rooms, send an itemised quote the customer can actually compare.
Invoice on the last coat
The invoice takes less time than washing the brushes — send it before you leave and let Grafta chase it.
Reschedule without chaos
Weather moves an exterior job? Drag it in the schedule and the week reshuffles around it.
Photos and receipts attached
Snap materials receipts as you buy — they're on the job, not on the van floor.

VAT, done right
Most of this work qualifies for the reduced 13.5% VAT rate as a service on a property — but if the materials cost more than two-thirds of the ex-VAT price, the whole job flips to 23% (the "two-thirds rule"). Grafta handles VAT per line item so the invoice comes out right either way.

Can I quote per room so customers can drop rooms to meet budget?
Yes — each room is a line item, so the customer sees exactly what each part costs and you can strike a room without re-quoting the lot.
What happens when a customer hasn't paid?
Grafta marks the invoice overdue and sends polite reminder emails on a schedule you control — most late payments are forgetfulness, and the nudge fixes it without souring the relationship.
I'm not VAT registered — is that a problem?
Not at all. Set your default VAT to 0% and Grafta produces clean non-VAT invoices; if you register later, flip the setting and per-line VAT is ready.
How much does Grafta cost?
Solo is €9.99/month for your first year on the founding offer (then €19.99), and Team starts at €49/month for 2 users. Every plan starts with a free trial — no card needed.
Do my customers need the app to accept a quote?
No. You send a link — they open it in their browser, see the itemised quote with your branding, and tap Accept. You get notified straight away.
